Great stuff, Andrea. Per your title, from the excellent book, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, And Tomorrow: "What is a game . . . It's tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. It's the possibility of infinite rebirth, infinite redemption. The idea that if you keep playing, you could win. No loss is permanent, because nothing is permanent, ever." Keep up your great work.
Love this! I’m a tennis nut who has watched you play and transition to commentating. Lovely to hear your voice in this way. Keep it coming! Also… let’s not forget a shout out to Taylor Townsend, how she kept steadying Siniakova when she lost her mojo. Taylor has the best attitude to go with her amazing skills. Shout out to Su-Wei Hseih, always so entertaining, so unconventional. Also, welcome back to Ons Jabeur, who had a couple good matches before wearing out.
I loved the anecdote about Paula Badosa! That said, I'm still on a high about Madison Keys. Judging from her peers on social, they were absolutely elated. Kind of reminds me when Ash Barty won her 1st major - definitely seemed as though she was very popular in the locker room as well based on her peers posts at the time.
I never liked Novak, but the boos were out of order. The guy wants to be untouchable in terms of slams. Novak isn't retiring unless it is something significant. It shouldn't have taken him posting a pic of his MRI to shut up ppl.
As you discussed on the pod, it is absolutely infuriating that tennis has swept Zverev's domestic abuse allegations under the mat. My nephew, who is a huge tennis fan and plays at high school level, didn't know about it until I told him. Yet Sabalenka's "tantrum" gets all of the press. For the record, I appreciated that she offered transparency into her mindset during the presser. Get the anger out before the ceremony. Her raw emotion and honesty is fantastic.
Another winner from Petko! I would read a book on Keys or anyone/anything else you write. Well done as always. Thanks for the recap and acknowledging the empty directionless feeling that hits after a slam.
Thanks for a great tournament, Petco! It was fun to watch and to experience virtually for nearly three weeks, and you are a big part of the reason why. Your graceful call of matches (which you need to do more of), your best-in-the-world on-court interviews (can you just do all on-court interviews at the Rolland Garros? Please?) and Renee Stubbes podcasts and IG posts made the whole thing as magical as Melbourne coffee for me. Where will we see you next? Linz? Abu Dhabi? Doha? Indian Wells? I, for one, can’t wait!
I love reading how emotional you all got watching Madi from the sidelines. Those last couple of matches were amazing to watch on TV, but it’s just starting to sink in what a historic, all-time run it was for her.
If Daniil is the Mad Lad, then Madison is the Maddie Laddie!! Taking out seeds 10, 6, 2, and of course, 1. ♥️🎾❤️
toughest draw EVER!

Hemingway might not approve of how you wrote this, but Fitzgerald would love it.

I am so glad they allow coaching during matches now, and thought that allowing the teams to be right on court definitely helped Madison.

I have to turn the sound off to watch a Sabalenka match.
„so I wrote this blog on my phone like a loser.“ Still and always a fun read Andrea.
I do not feel sorry for Alexander Zverev and I am kind of sad that you do.
Awesome. I would buy that book about Madi Keys!
Your self-deprecating humor is a great example for us self-righteous Yanks.
